And it would seem that the best PC I have is a MAC running Windows as an App. We run SA on a mac with bootcamp. Go Figure.

I'd like to add my request for fully supporting Mac OSX.

We've been lucky enough to have achieved a windows free environment and are putting together a small, but no no-compromise, studio/performance rig. I would love to be using HiQNet but having to run Windows is too big a compromise. I've made the mistake of relying on NT in production, then XP and recently Windows 7, and without getting into a religious debate, have learnt my lesson.

I get that .NET is the limiting factor, so it would be nice to see SA re-written in a cross platform framework to support the platforms that more and more "creatives" are adopting.

Even better, Harmon could release the HiQNet protocols and libraries under liberal license to the community for us to work with and develop apps that will be far superior to anything that can be achieved with .NET.

    Just me 2 cents

    Cheers,

    Jupiter

In The NEtherlands, we still use Windows computers on schools, but I thinks it's time to switch from the windows .net platform. Maybe reconsider to make the software more opensource.

Hello ; I´m trying to use System architect on mi mac , with parallels , but the big problem that I have is the network interfase .
the network card on parallels is : parallels network adapter , but I don´t know why I can not see it at system architech , instead of that , I have a Reltek one ( even with an ip address assigned) , anyone has solved this problem ?

It is a matter of economics

The decision not to design System Architect for the Macintosh is an economic one for Harman. They don't want to invest the resources it would take to develop the software. Instead they suggest we run the software under emulation on our Macs. Consider the economic impact of that. Each of us has to purchase a full install of the Windows operating system to install under Boot Camp (at least Boot Camp is free) or under an emulator which is an additional cost over and above that of the Windows operating system.

I was excited by the programming interface offered by System Architect when I was choosing the XTI 4002 for purchase. After the purchase I find I can not use this feature except by spending over $100 for the privilege. What you are doing is telling Mac owners that the cost of ownership with full privileges is substantially higher for them. At the very least, Crown sales information should mention the requirement for Windows.
