COMMON WEALTH CENTER IN CANADA SEEKS CLARITY THROUGH HARMAN HiQnet™
Harman HiQnet system provides extensive facility-wide paging as well as local audio control capabilities to the multi-faceted sports complex.
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA, March 16, 2006 -
Opening April 1st, the Common Wealth Center in Lloydminster, Canada is currently being installed with a Harman HiQnet™ solution featuring BSS, Crown and JBL Professional products. A truly unique community center, the two-level Common Wealth Center features two arenas, two field houses, two ice surfaces, a fitness area, running track, restaurant, as well as miniature golf and meeting facilities.
Designed and installed by Allstar Show Industries Inc., the center's most pressing audio goal was to achieve vocal clarity in public address throughout the entire facility, while at the same time enabling each zone to have its own local audio source. Allstar Show Industries' Wayne Rabidoux designed the system to fulfill these requests. "The ability to page to any zone, as well as having both local and central control of the individual zone volumes was paramount," stated Rabidoux, "but ultimately, our design and equipment specifications met the venue requirements with ease."
The new system includes 18 JBL Application Engineered™ (AE) speakers throughout the facility, and 20 Control 25T surface-mount speakers installed around the running track. All zones in the entire building, not just those mentioned above, are powered by Crown CTs600, CTs1200 and CTs2000 amplifiers and controlled with four BSS Soundweb London units. Both the BSS and Crown units are controlled by HiQnet London Architect software.
The Soundweb London units are strategically located throughout the venue - two in the main rack, one in the field house and one in the arena. The racks are interconnected with fiber optic cable and are all communicating through CobraNet. There are a total of 44 input sources, 23 local zone outputs and 15 paging zones.
"We worked closely with Soundcraft Canada to provide a system solution that met the facility's needs at a price point within their budget," stated Rabidoux, "and we're all very pleased with the results." Guy Dudding, Director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Lloydminster, agreed stating, "Common Wealth Centre is an important part of our community and we're thrilled at the results Allstar Show Industries has been able to provide."
